| Mini-guide to Mexico City |
The essentials about Mexico City
Mexico has a geostrategic position on the American continent, it has strong economic ties with the US and Canada, and it shares deep cultural roots with Latin America, serving as a bridge between Central and South America with North America, where it is located.
Notwithstanding the difficulties that have arisen with Trump’s administration, Mexico presents itself as a country with immense economic potential, which has managed to present sustainable results in a dynamic market.
Some analysts even point out that this country has the potential to be the seventh largest economy in the world by 2050.

Mexico City is the capital of the country and one of the most important business centres in Latin America. Badly-known in the past, this city has redeemed itself, with renewed public spaces, the rebirth of its culture and the rediscovery of its gastronomy.
BEFORE YOU GO, GET TO KNOW THE CITY

Mexico City, also known as the Federal District (Distrito Federal), is the oldest – founded in 1325 – and the highest – about 2,240 meters high – city in North America. With around 22 million inhabitants, this is also the most populous city in the Western Hemisphere.
A stroll through the bustling centre of Mexico City reveals the capital’s immense history, from the splendour of the pre-Hispanic and colonial eras to its most recent history.
The city has many well-known museums, such as the Casa Frida Kahlo Museum and the National History Museum. Sports venues, such as the Estadio Azteca and Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, provide residents and tourists with exciting entertainments.

Nowadays, Mexico City is the political, economic and social centre of Mexico and the largest metropolitan area in the Western Hemisphere. The nominal GDP of the city per capita is 17,696 USD, the highest of any city in Latin America, despite the unequal distribution of wealth.
Some of the best-known neighbourhoods in Mexico City are Coyoacan (which houses the Frida Kahlo Museum), Santa Fe (including the area of Bosques de las Lomas), Xochimilco (the small Venice of Mexico) and Polanco.
